Bullets Over Broadway Takes Aim on Dallas
This was one of my favorite shows during my last musicals-watching trip to New York City in 2014, it’s delightful. I predict Dallas Summer Musicals audiences will love it just as much. It comes to the Music Hall at Fair Park stage June 14-26.
Bullets is a lot of fun, which is to be expected since it’s written by Woody Allen. Based on a screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, the action is set in the 1920’s. A colorful bevy of showgirls and gangsters are featured, including a mobster trying to please his showgirl girlfriend. He finds a playwright looking for an investor, and it’s either the start of a great friendship….or a new musical.
Bullets features great music from the 20’s such as “Tain’t Nobody’s Bizness If I Do,” “Let’s Misbehave,” “I’m Sitting on Top of the World,” and “Runnin’ Wild.”
Starring Michael Williams, Emma Stratton, Jeff Brooks, Bradley Allan Zarr, Michael Corvino, Hannah Rose DeFlumeri, Rick Grossman, Jemma Jane and Rachel Bahler, Bullets Over Broadway is classic entertainment. And it’s suitable for all in the family.
WFAA TV Anchor Ron Corning will have a walk-on role in the show. The station is partnering with DSM and Broadway World DFW to provide audiences with an inside look at the life of an actor.
