New Owners of Windmill Lounge Hold Grand Re-Opening June 23

Since opening on Maple Avenue 11 years ago, the Windmill Lounge has been a popular hangout for Dallas social types. Recently purchased and renovated by Lisa and Tom Georgalia, who also own the popular Ivy Tavern, the Windmill Lounge now boasts a new menu and improved patio.

The new owners will host a grand re-opening party Friday, June 23 at 8 p.m. with music by DJ Insanity, drink and food specials and other promotions through the night. There will also be a live raffling off of the original Windmill Lounge jukebox.

The new menu features bar snacks like glazed chili almonds and marinated olives. Shared plates include deviled eggs; apple glazed meatballs with onion jam and spicy marinara; potato skins with grilled corn, black bean, avocado, Queso Fresco and crema; and classic hummus with hand torn Naan.

Other dishes include rotating cheese and charcuterie selection of meats, cheeses, bread, pickles and jams. Flatbreads like Honey Ham with Prosciutto, apples, goat cheese, honey, arugula and garlic oil; Margherita with basil, mozzarella, tomatoes and red sauce; roasted mushroom with caramelized onions, gorgonzola and pesto; blanca with mozzarella, white cheddar, chevre, parmesan and alfredo; and pulled pork with One Eyed Joe’s BBQ sauce and pickled fresno.

Featured pressed sandwiches are Cuban with pulled pork, prosciutto, house pickles and mustard; Windmill dip with roast beef, caramelized onions, gorgonzola horseradish sauce and warm jus; classic Italian with Prosciutto, mozzarella, basil and tomato; and veggie with roasted mushrooms, avocado, tomato and mozzarella.

Renowned for its craft cocktails, the Windmill Lounge offers such specials as The Louise, a refreshing summer drinks with vodka, orange juice, strawberry nectar, ginger juice, mint syrup and sparkling wine. A Hemmingway Daiquiri features Bacardi Rub, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, and grapefruit juice. Corpse Reviver #2 includes gin, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and Herbsaint rinse.

Ongoing summer specials will include $3 well drinks and $1 off pressed sandwiches on Sunday; $5 Manhattans on Monday; $5 Titos on Tuesday; $6 Chopin Vodka martinis and mules plus $1 off flatbreads on Wednesday; $7 Hornitos tequila cocktails on Thursday; with $1 off all cocktails during happy hour from 4-8 p.m. Monday-Friday. Guest DJs will perform on Saturdays.
