We’re excited to chat with The Family Place Partners Card Co-Chairs Rachel Michell, Nina Sachse and Stephanie Seay, who are filling us in on all things Partners Card. Partners Card is a premier shopping and dining fundraiser all benefiting The Family Place. The purchase of a $70 Partners Card gives you a 20% discount at stores and 10% discount at restaurants at over 750 locations across DFW from October 25 – November 3. Get ready to Save Money & Save Lives!

1. Stephanie, let’s start with you. How did you come to be part of The Family Place and Partners Card?

Stephanie: I have volunteered – and shopped! – with Partners Card for several years. My husband’s family has always been a huge supporter of the organization, I’ve sold cards and promoted Partners Card in the past. I am also involved with the Auxiliary group that volunteers and advocates on behalf of The Family Place.

2. What is Partners Card and how did it get started?

Rachel: Partners Card is a shopping and dining fundraiser benefiting The Family Place which is a domestic violence nonprofit serving North Texas. People buy a Partners Card for $70 which is a donation to The Family Place to receive a 20% discount at retailers and 10% discount at restaurants for 10 days from October 25 – November 3. This is the 27th year of Partners Card! The current CEO Paige Flink started the idea with a team of volunteers and it’s amazing how much it has grown. I’m always excited to see the new participants every year. We say it’s the only sale where you truly save- save money & save lives!

3. What has been the best part of this process?

Nina: The best part about being involved with Partners Card has been knowing all the hard work that goes into putting on the event, goes to such an important cause. Since working with this incredible organization, I have learned so much about how family violence affects us all. The Family Place not only provides safe housing for victims, but they also help them get back on their feet with counseling and skills that will help them become independent once it’s time for them to leave The Family Place. The Partners Card event is such a unique way to bring awareness to a critical issue in our community. I truly feel like Partners Card brings the whole community together.

4. Is there anything new or different about Partners Card this year? If so, what is it?

Nina: New this year, our “Partners Card Perks” initiative includes special offers from Highland Park Housekeeping, Drybar, OhZone Clinics and Tom Thumb & Albertsons. Our E-Commerce retailers continue to grow and we’re excited to be able to offer online shopping for Partners Card. More stores in new areas such as Fort Worth, Southlake, Plano & Frisco are participating in Partners Card this year. we are excited to expand into new areas to spread the word about The Family Place.

5. What are you most looking forward to during Partners Card?

Stephanie: The ways to use your Partners Card are truly endless! I love visiting NorthPark Center with their stylist Carlos Alonso-Parada and taking in all the exciting energy of Partners Card. They decorate with balloons, and with over 70 participating locations, there are amazing deals to be had! I also love using Partners Card for some self-care indulgences at Eleven Wellness and all the fitness studios that participate. I love exploring the local boutiques in Bishop Arts/Oak Cliff area, and I’ll go with my family to Fort Worth to check out their great shopping as well.

Nina: I’ll definitely get ahead of holiday shopping for my kids at Hip Hip Hooray. Paper Affair has everything you need for the holiday season. I’ll get my home holiday ready by scheduling Highland Park Housekeeping, making a trip to The Container Store, and booking an appointment with The NEAT Method. For myself, I’m eyeing a pair of shoes from the new Alexandre Birman boutique in NorthPark Center!

Rachel: Partners Card hits at the best time of the year! For me, the holidays are about the experience with family, but that being said, I love buying gifts! I have my eye on a vest for my husband at Orvis (shhh…don’t tell him!) and Lucky Dog Barkery will take care of the pups. Now is the time to dry clean all your winter coats and gear at Bibbentuckers while they are honoring the Partners Card discount! After all my Partners Card errands are done, I’m off to MARKET Highland Park to treat myself!
