Canceled: April 3: AWARE Affair

AWARE
Dedicated to Fighting Alzheimer’s Since 1989

Dear Friends,

With a heavy heart, the board of AWARE and chairs of the 2020 AWARE Affair have made the decision to cancel the AWARE Affair Gala scheduled for April 3 due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

This decision was not made easily.  Rather, it was made after reviewing the City of Dallas guidelines for group gatherings and thoughtful consideration of the generous support of those who participate in our annual fundraiser.  We respect the history and mission of AWARE, as well as our past, current, and future donors by being responsible stewards of their support.  And we strive to take care of our grant recipients who look to AWARE for support during the grant selection process.

The safety of our patrons, benefactors, and friends remains paramount in all we undertake.  Additionally, we want to ensure that all we do on behalf of AWARE and our mission is done with the utmost concern for the generous people who have helped build AWARE and its grant recipients into a vital force in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease in Dallas and the greater North Texas area.

We are deeply sorry we had to cancel the gala and praythe Coronavirus will go away, but for now we must be responsible citizens.  We are in conversations with the venue and vendors of the 2020 AWARE Affair and are already making plans for the 2021 gala in April 2021!  We hope to celebrate with you then.  We will be in touch!

Just remember, this too shall pass, we will get through this together!!

Most Sincerely,

Jolie Humphrey

2019/2020 Aware President
