Come to the Table is a delicious mix of recipes offering classic family favorites, sweet indulgences & pastries and simple family-style creations all inspired by each chef’s personal story as to what family means to them. Dean Fearing, chef & owner of Fearing’s Restaurant & Rattlesnake Bar remembers his granny “shaking a big ole bag of chicken with the A&P logo on the side” for his Granny Fearing’s fried chicken recipe; Honorary Chef Chair Uno Immanivong, owner & visionary of Red Stix Asian Street Food and Chef Uno Brands, brings her Duck Fat Fried Rice recipe to the table paying tribute to her mom for nurturing “my love for cooking and finding beautiful ingredients to elevate each dish;” and Val Jean-Bart, owner of Val’s Cheesecakes, shares the recipe for Val’s Berry Oreo Cheesecake in honor of his mom, “Marie Jose Labossiere, a phenomenal, strong and smart business woman” who was the muse for his career in cheesecakes before passing away from breast cancer.
The final line up of chefs and their cuisine features a diverse array of cooking styles, cultures, ethnicities, and breadth of experiences: from the new emerging talent to those who have delighted diners for decades. From Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle and beyond every chef has shared their recipe at no cost to RMHD. “Sales from this book will directly benefit the families we serve, so we are so grateful for each and every chef that has offered their time and talent to this cookbook,” said Jill Cumnock, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. “The way Come to the Table has been created reminds me of a recipe that culminates in a feast for the senses. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our 40th Anniversary, particularly at a time when families are starting to reunite after the pandemic forced so many apart.”
Divided into 3 sections: Baking…and I Helped, Family Classics and Simply Standard Staples, the cookbook will be ideal for anyone who loves to cook delicious cuisine from a variety of cultures. Honorary Chef Chairs Jeramie Robison, director of culinary & executive chef at the Thompson Dallas, and chef and restauranteur Giuliano Matarese take the reader to Lebanon and Italy with their recipes for Lebanese Rice and Chef G’s Spaghetti with Nonna Walmira’s Meatballs respectively. “I picked this recipe for Come to the Table as the rich aroma of this sauce, prepared so lovingly by my nonna Walmira, always reminds me of home,” said Chef G. “I am thrilled that this cookbook can not only bring my memory alive but for all the chefs that have contributed to this cookbook. Love and family provide the basis of so much of this book and every chef involved hopes that feeling of togetherness can be replicated in other people’s homes through these recipes and the joy of cooking.”
