Maverick Fitness along with Orangetheory Fitness Studios across Texas host Special Olympic Texas athletes to raise over $65,000 to benefit Special Olympics Texas

Maverick Fitness Holdings, owner of 34 Orangetheory® Fitness studios in North Texas, along with Orangetheory Fitness studios across the state of Texas, hosted Special Olympics Texas athletes during an exclusive 90-minute class at their studios on July 23 & 24, 2022. Orangetheory members paid $25 to participate in the class with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Texas.

The 34 studios in North Texas owned by Maverick Fitness raised $42,179 and donated an additional $5,000 through their OrangeLove program for a total donation of $47,179 for Special Olympics Texas. Here are some other interesting statistics from this initiative:

  • Over 100 Orangetheory Fitness studios participated across the state.
  • Over 150 Special Olympic Texas athletes and individuals with disabilities were included in the classes.
  • Over 1,000 Orangetheory members participated alongside Special Olympics athletes.
  • Over 1,350 Orangetheory members donated to support the local athletes and Special Olympics program.
  • Over $65,000 raised by Orangetheory members across the state to support Special Olympics Texas.

“We are proud to partner with Special Olympics Texas again this summer. Being able to have local athletes at our studios during the donation weekend made this event so much more special. There’s no better way to promote health and wellness through community and inclusion with an event such as this. We are grateful to our members and staff for participating and making this event successful.”, said Shane Adams, Chief Executive Officer, Maverick Fitness.

Since the beginning of 2020 Orangetheory Fitness has continued to expand their partnership and support of Special Olympics Texas and their athletes. What started as a way for Orangetheory employees to get involved in their local community by volunteering at different events transformed during the Pandemic as a way to keep Special Olympics athletes across the state engaged in social activities and focused on health and wellness during an extremely difficult time for everyone.

In 2021, as more in-person classes began to take place again, Orangetheory expanded their partnership with Special Olympics Texas by doing more for the athletes and getting Orangetheory members involved across the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. They are continuing that initiative today.

“I am truly grateful for the on-going partnership with Orangetheory Fitness and the continued support they have provided athletes of Special Olympics Texas, creating meaningful inclusion throughout their communities. It is partners like Orangetheory Fitness that allow Special Olympics Texas to continue to provide sports training, competitions, and health programs to people with intellectual disabilities across the state.”, says Tim Martin, CEO/President, Special Olympics Texas.

Maverick Fitness, who owns 34 Orangetheory® Fitness studios in North Texas, makes it a priority to give back to the communities they serve. In 2018, Maverick Fitness created OrangeLove, their non-profit initiative where one charity is chosen monthly to be the recipient of a cash donation. Orangetheory Fitness members are encouraged at the end of each class to check in on social media, tagging the charity. Maverick Fitness then donates up to $5,000 to the charity of choice.

In addition, Maverick Fitness Executive office is dedicated to doing quarterly Days of Service working with local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity, The Birthday Party Project, The Salvation Army, and Irving Cares.

Headquartered in Frisco, TX, Maverick is the second-largest franchisee for Orangetheory® Fitness, with 34 studios, over 18,000 members.

Orangetheory® Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, FL in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world’s top fitness franchises, with more than 1,300 studios in 50 states and 22 countries. The 60-minute, five zone heartrate monitored interval training concept combines a unique trifecta of science, coaching, and technology to give members More Life.
