Preservation Park Cities (PPC) 2023 Fall Membership Meeting gave a delightful insight on landscape architecture from Bill Bibb and Brian McDonald, founders of DFW landscape architecture firm Archiverde.

Sponsored by PPC’s 2023 Education Meeting Sponsor, Benchmark, the event was chaired by Lisa Henderson and Katie Walters, who also graciously hosted the event in her home. The evening began with a delicious selection of passed hors d’oeuvres and a featured a lovely wine which Katie had found in her recent travels to Italy and sourced in Dallas.

Katie welcomed the crowd and thanked Amy Beale, PPC president. She gave a brief introduction of the two speakers, saying that their landscape architect firm had done the landscape architecture at her home.

Bill and Brian took turns at the slideshow, sharing some background on how they had met in California, and in later years met again in Dallas working with Naud Burnett and then formed their own firm. Their presentation included details on some of the difficult and challenging aspects they encountered in many projects in the past and said it is important to hire a landscape architect when designing or changing the landscape of a home, because it not only adds to the overall value of the home, but to the appearance and beauty of the home’s surrounding landscape, as well.
