Junior League of Dallas (JLD) members and invited guests gathered for a special evening at the Meadows Museum on September 17, 2024, where two significant milestones were announced.

Guests were welcomed into the historic Meadows Museum on SMU’s campus and offered refreshments and hors d’oeuvres from Salum Restaurant, as they mingled and enjoyed the art on exhibit. Junior League of Dallas President Tandra Allen opened the event by welcoming guests and expressing her excitement about the upcoming year. Tandra then introduced 2025 Milestones Luncheon Co-Chairs, Lauren Combest and Debbie Oates, who shared a preview of the Luncheon set to take place on April 11, 2025.

Sustainer President Sally Dutter then revealed JLD’s 2025 Sustainer of the Year is longtime League supporter and community leader, Peggy Sewell. Peggy will be recognized for her philanthropic efforts and exceptional contributions to the community, as well as her longstanding dedication to the Junior League of Dallas, at the Milestones Luncheon next spring. With an impressive record of leadership across various nonprofits, Peggy has continually exemplified the League’s mission of empowering women leaders.

“We are delighted that Peggy has been selected as our 2025 Sustainer of the Year. No one captures the ideals we strive to achieve as a Sustainer more than Peggy,” said Debbie Oates, JLD Sustainer and Milestones Luncheon Co-chair. “How fitting it is to gather here for the Reveal Party at SMU Meadows Museum, a place that means so much to Peggy and her family, to celebrate her unwavering dedication, leadership, and service to the Dallas community.”

Luncheon Co-chair Lauren Combest then announced the keynote speaker of the 2025 Milestones Luncheon will be celebrated author, entrepreneur, and Dallas-based foodie Alex Snodgrass.
