This year’s Partners Card event promises to be an inspiring showcase of community commitment, with Nancy Bierman as the Honorary Chair and Dr. Tiffany Moon and Elizabeth Ward Creel serving as Co-Chairs. This community-wide fundraiser supports The Family Place, Texas’ largest family violence service agency, offering critical services and safe spaces for survivors. Partners Card is a simple yet powerful way to contribute: a $75 card helps to provide one night of shelter for a survivor and offers a discount at over 600 locations in DFW. Save 20% at participating retailers and 10% at restaurants, from October 25 to November 3. Here, our chairs share their personal connections and commitments to this vital cause.

Q: Can you share your personal commitment to The Family Place and what inspired you to get involved?

Nancy: My commitment to The Family Place deepened after someone close to me experienced domestic abuse firsthand. It was a stark reminder that this issue truly does not discriminate. The stories I heard resonated with me profoundly, propelling me to advocate for those who can’t have a voice until they’re safe. As a board member and Honorary Chair, I aim to leverage my network to broaden our community’s understanding and support.

Tiffany: As a physician, I’ve seen firsthand the physical and emotional scars borne by survivors of family violence. I joined The Family Place as a board member to help heal and empower those in need. Chairing Partners Card is a way for me to amplify our impact and ensure that more survivors can find the refuge they seek for a safe future.

Elizabeth: My involvement started as a volunteer years ago. Witnessing the strength and resilience of the survivors we support at The Family Place moved me deeply, inspiring me to take a front-row seat in driving change. As a board member and Co-chair, I’m dedicated to expanding our outreach and support networks.

Q: Why did you choose to chair Partners Card this year?

Nancy: The opportunity to chair Partners Card is a privilege. It’s a chance to rally our community around a cause that offers immediate help and hope to those in crisis.

Tiffany: I chose to chair this event because I believe in proactive support. Partners Card isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about community engagement and building awareness around the pressing issue of family violence.

Elizabeth: For me, chairing Partners Card is about making a tangible difference. It’s about turning advocacy into action and providing safety and support for hundreds of families.

Q: Could you share a personal experience from your involvement that has been particularly meaningful?

Nancy: A recent visit to one of The Family Place shelters allowed me to meet several survivors whose stories of courage will forever inspire my efforts. It’s these personal connections that remind me why our work is so crucial.

Tiffany: During a fundraising gala, I met a former client of The Family Place who had transformed her life thanks to the support she received. Her journey from survivor to advocate was incredibly powerful and reaffirmed my commitment to our cause.

Elizabeth: Participating as a retailer in years past was immensely rewarding for me. Seeing the tangible results of our collected resources provides a profound sense of accomplishment and purpose.
