DSM Guild Cast Party for THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY
(February 5, 2016 – Dallas, TX) The Dallas Summer Musicals Guild hosted the cast and company of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY at a party in their honor at Margaux’s Bridge Bistro on opening night recently.
Hosted by the Bistro’s owner, Kay Agnew, locally known for her absolutely delicious homey creole and Texan dishes, the venue could not have been more perfect, with a view of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge lit up against the night sky in the background.
The buzz was all about how fabulous the show is: the lighting, the performers’ voices and the songs were at the top of everyone’s list, saying this is truly an impressive award-winning show with strong emotions running throughout.
Joining the Guild members were cast members Elizabeth Stanley (Francesca), Andrew Samonsky (Robert – the photographer), Dallas native John Campione (Michael – the son), Mary Callanan (Marge – the neighbor), David Hess (Charlie – Marge’s husband) and Cullen Titmas (Bud –Francesca’s husband), along with DSM’s chairman of the board, Ted Munselle; John Clutts , who is chairing The 5th Annual DSM High School Musical Awards, Sami Arslanlar, Miss Texas Shannon Sanderford and Megan and Andy Meyercord.
Guild president Juliann Krumbholz welcomed everyone, thanking this evening’s hosts, Gary Gonzales, Donna Kay Waggoner, Cynthia and Ron DeVies, Dolorie and Paul Corley, Brian Rayl and Tori Walker, along with Kay and other food sponsors, including James Nelson of The Original Cupcakery, who provides cupcakes for every event. She also thanked Jackie Jones, Guild Events chair for her hard work organizing this event, along with support from Guild member Jason Blair.
A surprise birthday cake was presented to Michael Jenkins, DSM’s President and Managing Director, who had just celebrated his birthday the night before. The crowd sang Happy Birthday and everyone joined in congratulations to Michael and the cast photo.
One of the special treats for the cast is a DSM duffel bag filled with over 55 treats, magazines and special surprises to make the cast and crew feel welcome in Dallas, coordinated by Guild member Dennis Cabe.
The DSM Guild events are sponsored in part by Dallas Summer Musicals and the DSM Guild’s major supporters. The cast and company events are an opportunity to meet the cast members and get to know them one on one. Then on the Saturday and Sunday during the shows run, the Guild serves a luncheon buffet to all of the cast and company of each show, if it is a two-show day. These events are a tradition of DSM and members of the Guild and would not be possible without many sponsors and friends.
The Dallas Summer Musicals Guild is a group of people who share a love of musical theater, show their appreciation to the traveling casts and crews and enthusiastically support the Dallas Summer Musicals! Benefits include exclusive cast parties, weekend cast buffets and exciting social opportunities! For Guild membership information, visit the website at http://www.dsmguild.org.
