Educational First Steps to host “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” benefit gala at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas

The Most Decorated U.S. Track and Field Olympian Returns to North Texas in Support of Early Childhood Education and Childcare.

Educational First Steps (EFS) and event co-chairs Angela Hosseini and Lupe Mora-Duarte are proud to announce the “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” benefit gala taking place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas. Special guest Allyson Felix, the most decorated track and field Olympian, mother, and women’s rights activist is returning to North Texas to shine light on the importance of early childhood education and childcare in our community. Kristi Nelson, three-time Emmy Award-winning news anchor with NBC 5, will serve as the host and moderator for the evening.

As an eleven-time Olympic medalist, seven-time Olympic champion, and world record holder, Allyson Felix has won a mind-blowing, thirty-one global medals at the Olympics and World Championships.  As the headliner for the “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” gala, she will discuss her ability to transform adversity into winning opportunities, her commitment to advocating for women and the importance of early childhood education.

Allyson is passionate about the mission of EFS and her advocacy for the rights of female athletes. Her actions have transformed the athletic maternity protection policies and guaranteed athletes’ pay and bonuses throughout and after pregnancy. Allyson’s actions also helped ensure that complimentary childcare would be offered at the National Championships for competing athletes.
