Joyce Fox served as chair for this lovely evening event.   Kathy Cothrum secured beverage donations which were paired with Pirch crab cakes and grilled sweet corn bisque shooters, followed by hearth roasted beef tenderloin filets with natural jus, a crispy pancetta and marble potato hash and mojito marinated grilled shrimp with cucumber-fennel-arugula salad. Guests were treated to desserts of hazelnut cookies and brownie bites with white chocolate and goodie bags donated by NorthPark Center and Pirch.

Karen Dealy is president of the Women’s Auxiliary. Myrna Schlegel and her daughters, Kim Schlegel Whitman, Kari Schlegel Kloewer and Krystal Schlegel, are honorary chairs of the Monday, May 2 Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Omni Dallas Hotel, which is anticipated to be a sell-out. Everyone is urged to make their reservations now!

At the event, the morning will begin with a reception and silent auction with some one-of-a-kind items and packages exclusive to this very popular happening. Guests will be dazzled by the floral designs sponsored by Heritage Auctions and find fabulous buys while shopping in the Chic Boutique sponsored by Tootsies. Ron Corning of WFAA TV Channel 8 will have everyone entertained as the emcee. The exciting runway presentation is produced by the inimitable Jan Strimple. There will be a presentation and a few surprises mingled in, followed by a fabulous luncheon.

Fashion Show & Luncheon sponsorships and underwriting are available. Tickets are available beginning at $500.

Membership in The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is open to the public. The Auxiliary supports the work of The Salvation Army through many volunteer activities: back to school, Angel Tree and red kettles at NorthPark, Santa sacks, and the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon.  The Auxiliary’s community service projects enrich the lives of those less fortunate, from serving meals at The Salvation Army Carr P. Collins Social Service Center to celebrating sobriety at its Adult Rehabilitation Center.  The volunteer efforts support the organization’s community centers, which provide a variety of services to help those in need in their communities: children, teens, adults, and seniors.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.  Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
