Les Femmes due Monde featured Margaret Chambers, ASID and owner of Chambers Interiors, as the speaker at the membership meeting hosted by Heritage Auctions.
Martha C. Cox, president, Les Femmes du Monde, opened with LFDM announcements such as a Christmas Party at Chamber’s home and appreciation for Chambers work and accolades as a noted interior designer. Margaret has been featured in over 40 publications, has appeared on HGTV and has been named a Best Designer in Dallas by D Home magazine for 14 years. She has won 27 local, state, and national ASID design awards since 2007.
She then introduced Ed Beardsley, Vice President of Heritage Auctions. He explained how it’s free and open to the public to attend the auctions. He introduced Chambers onto the stage for her presentation. She shared her interest in antiques dates back to when she was young, and by 17 she was purchasing antiques to decorate her own space. Forty years later she is still designing rooms with antiques. Her most recent job was the KAPPA ALPHA THETA House at Southern Methodist University. She presented other projects including the University Park French House, Spanish Colonial home in Kessler Park, and the Texas Farm House to name a few. Her main focus was to show how to incorporate antiques into a modern home without it looking clustered, but also showcased trends in interior design. She followed the presentation with a Question & answer segment.
