A New DFW Festival, “The Sound of Hope,” Aims to Feed Children Worldwide
Family-friendly festival and 5K will introduce school-feeding charity Mary’s Meals to North Texas
Mary’s Meals invites North Texas families to make a meaningful impact this spring at The Sound of Hope, a family-friendly festival and 5K taking place at The Sound at Cypress Waters, 3111 Olympus Blvd. in Dallas.
This event brings together live music, local vendors, family‑friendly activities, and an opportunity to support the North Dallas Food Bank, creating a public day centered on community and purpose. While general attendance is free, the $25.20 registration fee for the 5K run and walk will help feed one child for an entire school year through Mary’s Meals. Children under 12 can participate in the run for free. The kids dash begins at 8:30 a.m., the 5K starts at 8:45 a.m., and the spring festival will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Details and sign-up, click here.
Mary’s Meals provides daily school meals for 3 million children across 16 countries in educational settings. By serving meals in schools, the organization supports access to education that can help break the cycle of poverty. The Sound of Hope will also mark Mary’s Meals’ introduction to the Dallas–Fort Worth community. While the organization serves children globally, both Mary’s Meals USA’s incoming interim Executive Director, Jennifer Hartley, and board member Mark Menking are based in North Texas, offering a strong local connection for area supporters.

Texans can play a vital role in Mary’s Meals’ global effort to reach children in some of the world’s poorest countries, including Haiti, Ethiopia and South Sudan. This event not only raises awareness and support, but it also shows how local action can help address child hunger worldwide, one meal at a time.
