A Night of Hope Nets $15,000 in Support of KidneyTexas, Inc.’s Luncheon and Fashion Show On Wings of Hope and Transformation

David Andrews met with KidneyTexas, Inc. Fashion Show and Luncheon chairs Regina Bruce and Dr. Carla Russo at Salum Restaurant where he presented a check for $15,000 to the chairs, representing the net proceeds from the A Night of Hope Dinner which he co-chaired with Carlo Barone in partnership with Abraham Salum at his fabulous namesake restaurant.
It was an intimate evening with friends and supporters of KidneyTexas, Inc. as part of the Luncheon and Fashion Show events and was sold-out affair.
There were cocktail pairings featuring organic, eco-friendly and sustainable liquors donated by Greenbar Distillery. Guests enjoyed prosecco, wines, passed hors d’oeuvres and a sumptuous four-course dinner.
Joining the crowd at the dinner were KidneyTexas, Inc. Luncheon and Fashion Show chairs Regina Bruce and Dr. Carla Russo, John Pickett, Joe Russo, Luncheon and Fashion Show honorary chairs Jeanne and George Lewis, members of the Lone Star Monarchs Kimberly Elliott, Jacqueline Griffin, Cindy Tesseneer, Elizabeth Smith, Anna Berman, Rhonda Pickrell; Rick Adams, Carole Murray, Lisa and Tom Georgalis, Patricia Deason, Steve Hoyl, Dora Chu and more.
Scott Murray emceed and encouraged the crowd to bid in the silent auction, reminding everyone that funds donated to KidneyTexas, Inc. remain in the North Texas area and support beneficiaries Baylor Scott & White Foundation, Camp Reynal, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Southwest Transplant Alliance and Texas Health Resources Foundation. He updated everyone on the mission of KidneyTexas, Inc. which is to provide funding to improve the methods of treatment, the search for a cure and prevention of kidney disease and other kindred or contributory diseases; and to develop more adequate provision for the care of persons suffering from such diseases.

Themed On Wings of Hope and Transformation and celebrating its 23rd year, the Fashion Show and Luncheon happens on Tuesday, October 25th at the Meyerson Symphony Center. The morning begins with a champagne reception followed by a program and a formal floor level fashion presentation featuring fashions from long-time partner TOOTSIES, joined by Betty Reiter, Nardos Design, and more produced by Jan Strimple Productions, which is always a fabulous event including fun surprises. Live and Silent Auctions. It is all topped off with a delicious luncheon.
Sponsorships are $3,000 and up. Individual Patron Level tickets are $1,000 and $500. Individual tickets $300 (limited availability). All are available now via the website at www.kidneytexas.org.
Statistics: Debilitating kidney diseases impact approximately 20 million people in the United States today. Groups at high risk include African Americans, Hispanics, senior citizens and people with diabetes. In Texas, there are over 30,000 people on dialysis and 4,000 on a transplant list. The number of patients on dialysis is anticipated to double this decade.
History: Since 1999, the dedicated volunteers of KidneyTexas, Inc. have worked in tandem with our generous underwriters to raise over $4.3 million for local efforts to improve the ability to diagnose and manage kidney disease.
Each fall KidneyTexas, Inc. hosts its Luncheon & Fashion Show in an effort to raise money for designated beneficiaries and awareness for a disease that affects millions of people each year. The success of this event depends heavily upon the contributions and dedication of our Dallas business and community leaders. Your support is crucial to the success of our mission.
