Regina Bruce and Dr. Carla Russo, founders, Lone Star Monarchs, having chosen Bryan’s House as a Charity to Love, sponsored an Easter Eggstravaganza for Bryan’s House students, teachers and staff and presented Cindy Ryan, Director of Advancement, Bryan’s House, with a check for $25,000 to help further its mission of serving children with special needs.

Seventy of these children (birth to age five) were treated to Easter baskets filled with goodies, books, sidewalk chalk, bunny fans to color, stuffed toys, bunny ears and bubbles and spent the day reading their new books and doing arts and crafts. A large donation was made to the Bryan’s House library that included a collection of Eric Carle and Dr. Seuss children’s books.   There was even a visit from the Easter Bunny (David Andrews).

Lone Star Monarchs also provided lunches, sweet treats and gift cards to all the teachers and staff who were served lunch from Eatzi’s and Whole Foods, as well as receiving other holiday delights. They were all surprised with Target gift cards in appreciation for their love and care for these beautiful children.

Bryan’s House board chair Nicole Blythe said, “We are so grateful to Lone Star Monarchs for understanding the power of connection and for helping our kids with special needs have the opportunity to learn, have fun, and to thrive.  The Lone Star Monarchs’ contributions and volunteer service are making a beautiful difference in their lives.”

“We were delighted to sponsor such a fun event for everyone at Bryan’s House,” Regina said. “It warmed our hearts to see how happy it made everyone to be celebrated this Easter. Carla and I, along with our wonderful friends and supporters, appreciate all of them and were also honored to present a check to Bryan’s House for $25,000 to benefit this meaningful nonprofit and to spend the day volunteering in their classrooms, where we read books and did arts and craft projects with the children.”

Joining in the fun as donors and volunteers were Mustapha Aassar, David Andrews, Anna Berman, Tina Henley, Jeanne Lewis, Rhonda Johnson Pickrell, Elizabeth Smith, Cindi Tesseneer and Al Zwanenburg.

Corporate sponsors included:  BDO USA, LLP, CAPTRUST, Microsoft and The UPS Store on Lemmon.  Individual sponsors included:  Stephen Hoyl, John Pickett, Rhonda Johnson Pickrell and Joe Russo.
