Each year CAPTRUST Dallas chooses a nonprofit to benefit from the CAPTRUST Community Foundation’s (CCF) Annual Giving Grant. This year, the Young Women’s Preparatory Network was chosen as one of its beneficiaries, receiving $10,000.

The CCF funded $10,000 donations to 80 charities across the country, totaling $800,000, as part of the nonprofit’s sixth annual Giving Day. The CCF is CAPTRUST’s 501(c)(3) foundation, dedicated to improving the lives of children in the communities where CAPTRUST operates. As part of the Giving Day campaign, each CAPTRUST office selected local organizations that support children and reflect causes meaningful to their community.

“Giving Day is more than just a philanthropic initiative, it’s a reflection of who we are as a company,” said Heather Shanahan, president of the CCF, and CAPTRUST senior director of endowments and foundations. “It’s a moment when our colleagues come together to champion causes close to home, and to invest in the future of children across the country. The energy and commitment from our offices each year reminds me that real change starts locally.”

In honor of Emerson Schorr and his parents, Kelly and Geoffrey Schorr, John Pickett of CAPTRUST Dallas presented a $2,500 check from the CCF to The Ashford Rise School of Dallas, a program of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The school serves youth 6 months to 6 years old, with and without disabilities. Currently 68 students are enrolled in the school with a waiting list of over 100 children for admission.
