WiNGS announces the lively return of its premier spring event, Pop Fizz Clink! – A WiNGS Fiesta on May 5, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thompson Dallas

After a successful inaugural event in 2022WiNGS is honored to have Event Chairs Melissa Cameron, Jane Rozelle Humphrey and Vodi Cook Meagher and Honorary Chair Laurie Sands Harrison lead the celebration to support the Women of WiNGS. Pop Fizz Clink! – A WiNGS Fiesta will return to the Thompson Dallas on May 5, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.

Founded in 1908, WiNGS, formerly the Dallas YWCA, has a long history of empowering women, fighting poverty and impacting generations. WiNGS provides free and vital services, helping women transition successfully during periods of change, including first-time pregnancies and economic and financial uncertainty through two primary programs: Economic Advancement (EA) and Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP). The women WiNGS serve are meeting goals to decrease debt, increase savings, raise credit scores, build assets and create career paths with a living wage through our EA program. The NFP program ensures both new moms and their babies are getting the resources they need from registered nurses, which includes in-home medical, nutritional and social-emotional support.

Proceeds from Pop Fizz Clink! will benefit the WiNGS mission, serving some of the most vulnerable populations – communities of color, women with limited English proficiency, single-income households, women at risk of intimate partner violence and financial insecurity.

Guests of the annual spring event will take in an array of exciting entertainment, fiesta-inspired drinks and brunch bites, interactive goodie stations, and stories of the inspirational women of WiNGS.

“Pop Fizz Clink! is a celebration of both the women of WiNGS and our supporters who help our organization serve Dallas-area women on their journey to financial security and healthy families,” said Kate Rose Marquez, CEO of WiNGS. “We are thrilled that Melissa, Jane and Vodi will chair our 2023 spring event and look forward to the overwhelming support from our community on May 5 as we fiesta in honor of the Women of WiNGS.”

About WiNGS Founded in 1908 as the YWCA of Dallas, WiNGS has 115-year history empowering women, fighting poverty, and impacting generations. WiNGS provides free and vital services, helping women transition successfully during periods of change, including first-time pregnancies and economic and financial uncertainty through two primary programs: Economic Advancement (EA) and Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP). Traditionally, 92 percent of WiNGS clients (across all programs) are women of color and 76 percent of clients earn less than $38,000 a year. WiNGS works specifically with women of color, as they are disproportionately impacted in quality-of-life indicators such as health, earnings, and long-term financial stability.
